starts where it ends
Jan. 13th, 2008 09:32 pmI miss Rose. Fiercely. (This came out of nowhere and will either fade quickly or last until summer. I fear the latter.)
New Torchwood on Wednesday and I'm excited. It's been a while since I was sucked into any fandom so maybe Jack and Gwen and Owen will do the trick. I'm even looking forward a tiny little bit to Jack/Ianto, although the pairing did nothing for me last season. Ianto just never really registered on my radar, I guess. Let's just say I'm going into season 2 with a wide open mind.
Haven't seen the Who Christmas special yet but then last week was one crazy hell of a mess so I'm sort of excused.
I didn't get much reading done last year, so for 2008 I'm planning to up the ante (that really shouldn't be too hard). A few days ago I got started on Pratchett's Aching trilogy, next in line is I Am The Messenger followed by On Chesil Beach.
Movie-wise, 2007 was equally underwhelming but there's good stuff on the horizon already: Indy 4, Hellboy 2 (oh, how I want to see that one), Narnia: Prince Caspian, My Blueberry Nights and Cassandra's Dream, to name just a few. I'm sure I'll be picking up some more along the way.
I haven't written a single thing in the whole of 2007. Written down it looks even worse than it sounded in my head. Thing is, I don't exactly feel moved to write in any of my fandoms right now, although I do feel a certain pull towards the X-Men (AU Jean/Erik of all things - why do I have to get hit with the crazy so often?). I feel pretty blah about everything else but again I'm counting on Torchwood to do the trick.
So, yeah, 2008 - here I come.
