Music meme, nicked from
seablue_eyes: "You can learn a lot about someone by the music they listen to. So here is the game! Hit shuffle on your ipod or mp3 player [Winamp] and write down the first 25 songs. No cheating or skipping songs that are shameful. That is the fun! Then tag your friends."
01. Isue Asazaki - Obokuri Eeumi ("Obtain Bearing"); from Samurai Champloo, one of my all-time favorite anime. The beauty of this piano piece lies in the way each note hits you like a heavy, warm drop of rain, while Isue's sorrowful voice forms a poignant counterpoint.
02. Coheed and Cambria - Welcome Home (acoustic); this is the version used in the first trailer for Shane Acker's 9. Powerful.
03. White Lies - Death; perfect running music.
04. Greg Laswell - Comes And Goes (In Waves); "come on, friends, get up now, you're not alone at all" \o/
05. Iron & Wine - Boy With A Coin (acoustic); sparse, yet deeply moving.
06. The Enright House - Scattering The Sun Like Gunshot (acoustic); this instrumental piece is beautiful beyond description; the title always makes me think of Dean. :)
07. Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow (remix ft Gucci Mane & 50 Cent); only a handful of songs manages to boost my energy during running like this one does
08. Mika - We Are Golden; this one brings on memories of a very special road trip I took recently (it was the traffic jam of DOOM)
09. Neimo - Lines; highly energetic!
10. The Do - At Last; love 'em or hate 'em - I don't think there's a middle way
11. Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses (acoustic); why yes, I do have a thing for acoustic versions :D
12. Elbow - The Bones Of You; I ♥ Elbow like whoa (almost as much as Dredg - which, when are they going to come up? ;)
13. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Hysteric (acoustic); this is bitter and sweet and just very lovely to listen to
14. Sugarcult - Memory (acoustic); love the pacing of this!
15. Bat For Lashes - Good Love; dark, heavy and delicious
16. The Republic Tigers - Stranger To The Eyes Of A Man-Child; this one makes me insanely happy (thanks, SPN, for introducing me to the Tigers!)
17. Anna Ternheim - No, I Don't Remember; the beginning reminds me of Lady D'Arbanville by Cat Stevens :p, in addition, it's just stunningly beautiful
18. Molotov - Gimme Tha Power; a rad song about political oppression and corruption and freedom fighters [Spanish]
19. Adele - Black & Gold (Sam Sparrow cover); the only thing I love more than acoustic songs are acoustic cover versions :D
20. Repo! The Genetic Opera OST - We Started This Op'ra Shit; I love the crazy weirdness of this
21. Lady Gaga - Starstruck (ft. Space Cowboy & Flo Rida); awesome remix!
22. Voxtrot - Soft & Warm; super catchy and upbeat tune, paired with not-so-light at all lyrics
23. Greg Laswell - I'd By Lying; to me, this is the penultimate Dean/Cas song: won't you let me lighten your load, I mean after all your legs are shaking *happy sigh*
24. Lupe Fiasco - Daydreaming (ft. Jill Scott); I mostly love this for its use of the Day Dream In Blue sample
25. Ben Gibbard - A Lack Of Colour (acoustic); and we fade out on the gentle sound of Ben Gibbard's plaintive voice...
Also: trailer show. Because there's nothing like looking forward to the big screen goodness, yo.
a) Legion. Post-apocalyptic, with Paul Bettany. God is fed up with our crap, and sics a legion of angels on mankind. Archangel Michael stands up for humanity's last and only hope. (I totally want a fic crossover with SPN, in which Cas and Michael do wicked naughty things to Dean. Paul Bettany, Misha Collins + Jensen Ackles, you guys. *fans self*)
b) District 9. I'm a sucker for sci fi movies, and I think this one has potential.
c) Ponyo. I will watch anything by Hayao Miyazaki, he's that much of a genius.
d) Gamer. I'm only looking forward to this one for entirely naugthy and wrong reasons. Plus, eye candy galore.
e) The Men Who Stare At Goats. The premise alone, you guys, it kills. Plus: George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. This one will kill me dead laughing (like the trailer very nearly already did).
f) Sherlock Holmes. Seriously, who isn't waiting for this one?! I have a world of want for Holmes and Watson and Holmes/Watson. WANT.
