ethiaJust saw Transformers 2, and I really liked it, despite my usual misgivings about sequels.
A few short observations:
- LOTS and LOTS of action; I loved the CGI, it all looked seamless and very neat. As for the plot - wait, there was a plot? :D Nah, it was thin enough, but I have a thing for epic stories that involve brothers and betrayals and noble sacrifices, so that's perfectly alright.
- Hee for Bumblebee shooting the Witwicky family home to timbers (he meant so well, the poor cupcake)
- Damn, but Megan Fox is really hot. Just, perhaps cut down on the lipgloss alittle lot?
- Steve Jablonsky did a fabulous job on the soundtrack. I'm so in love with what I personally think of as Optimus' Theme, it's ridiculous.
- Tazers! Heeee.
- I totally ♥ Agent Simmons. Go you, John Turturro.
- I have the hugest crush on Major Lennox. Can he get a spin-off movie, pls?
- The camera work was first grade; some shots really took my breath away.
- Pyramids!
- Oh, Optimus. Stop being so noble and selfless and humble, you stupid old chunk of metal, I like you way too much already.
In other news, I seem to be getting used to watching military stuff (which I used to hate for the longest time); next thing I know, I'll start watching Generation Kill. 0.0 Tonight, Jarhead's on TV, and I'm more than willing to give it a try.
